Retatrutide gave me tachycardia and afib

I'm 42 and never had this before. I've been on TRT for almost 4 years. Had EKGs done and always normal.

I've been on retatrutide for months, but started slowly with 0.5mg, eventually I moved to 4mg and that's where my heart rate catapulted.

Before my heart rate was always 65 at rest, now is over 90. I had EKG and showed afib. I have stopped reta since last Wednesday, but it can take a month or longer for the effects to completely wear off. I've been taking propranolol and barely helps to lower my heart rate.

Worst part is I bought many vials and it didn't help much with weight loss, only when I upped to 4mg, I may have lost 2-3lbs, before never lost anything.

I read semaglutide and tirzepatide can also cause these issues, just not as pronounced as reta. Its the glucagon that makes it more pronounced.

I'm quitting all GLPs, it doesn't help much with weight loss, at least for my genetics and messed up my heart. Just gonna lose weight the old fashioned way.

Like any medication there is always an outlier and that could be you or possibly you're using a poor brand of RETA. What brand did you use?

I have not heard that it can cause this issue. Do you have any studies or anything you can point to?
