learning how to weight train after 5 years away

I'm looking for advice when it comes to learning how to weight train after five years away from doing it. I took some time off due to the issues with family and work but now I'm looking to get back in the gym. I just signed up for a new one. What is a good workout strategy that you'd recommend that I get into first?
 
They say it takes usually half as long to build back your muscle memory and conditioning as your time off. If you took five years off, it can take a couple years to really be back to where you were before.
 
Bro, as I say just go in there and hit it hard. You are gonna be sore the first few workouts but it will come back to you in no time. Make sure you learn some new strategies. Things have changed in five years.
