prepping steak tips

first time living on my own. Got a good hookup for cheap steaks. I know steak is easier to make then other things like chicken. What are some tips and tricks when it comes to making steak ? Should I try using a grill or should I focus more on other ways to cook them? What spices should I use?

the key with steak is keeping it out to warm up on the inside. never cook it while cold
