As it goes on you can tell he feels pretty guilty about what he is saying. Doesn't seem like a bad guy, seems like he no longer wants to be with his wife though

    LOL, fair point mate.

Lets face it, you would have to be a total knob to go on Dr Phil ans pill your guts about you personal family matters in the first place.

The guy has 3 kids, a wife and job. Being "at the top" should be the last thing on his mind. He seems like a nice enough guy from what i saw, but anyone in his position willing to risk his health, family, job etc just to stand on stage and flex his muscles needs his head checked.

Part 3 of the video is the best part when dr. phil tells him his opinion. Marriage is something very sacred and important. you don't get married just for the f##k of it, and you don't have 3 kids just so u can say u have 3kids. A REAL MAN takes care of his family first while pursuing bodybuilding at the same time. It's hard but not impossible to do. If he wants to turn pro, he should have thought of this b4 he got married and knocked up the wife 3 times. Very immature for 31, eventhough he looks late 30's with botox injections included LOL. Talk about self obsessed to the max. very sad

you are right mate i dont disagree with your comment mark

but i think at this point having already commited enough to have kids you kinda need to work out a balance
others have done so successfully, he obviously has some sort of issues possibly what was mentioned by his father but i personally have seen it happen to others who were nowhere near or ever to achieve pro level
one example was a dude who you have met, used to be really fat, lost all his weight and competed ripped but skinny and alomst won had he not passed out on stage

when he was just a normal dude (albeit over weight) he was really humble and everybody liked him
once he got a taste of attention and the addictive need to stay in condition (ofcourse its natural to achieve such a goal that once seemed impossible and crave keeping it) he became a totally different person
he is still a decent bloke but his life became about him and how many chicks he could show the world he has and who he is fucking while he left his home with kids and wife who again tried endlessly to stay there for him,
you couldnt walk into his shop without him showing pics on his fone of women hes playing with, every woman that walked by the shop tuning to see whats in the store he would whistle and act like they wanted him he was fucked up and on a trip
he never really let up either, it was all about him and nobody else

its definately a mixture of the new appeal and AAS with the over powered libido controlling us who let it

many of you dudes either make the choice not to commit which is fair enough ofcourse or you are well past the point of it controlling your life and can moderate everything

its a shame to see and this dude in the video has surely got some sort of complex all he has to do is recognise it and work on it (so i guess i take back the part above where i called him a fuckwitt )

i personally believe if there is a negative to androgens its most definatley all of the above
watched too many fellas go from being great to outta control myself included

totally agree, however i also beleive that there is the other end of the spectrum here also. We can be so obsessed with bodybuilding WE are the ones who become delusional. At some point some people need to grow up, realise there is more to life etc. This guy is a perfect example of this.

I was on the animal pak forums and spotted something similar to this issue. A guy asked Evan Centopani about what he thought when he was at the fitness expos around the world and had all the "hot" models and women throwing themselves at him. His response was...

Hey man, there are always gonna be hot women and shit like that but what the fuck does that matter you know? My girl doesn't even go to the gym. Despite the fact that it may make my lifestyle seem impossible for her to understand and it may cause fights and I might get pissed and she might get pissed and we fight about it, in the end I think that she adds a lot of balance to my life. I can be fucking relentless when it comes to training and eating and working, working, working and I think that she brings and outside view into my world and keeps me from getting too wrapped up in a wrold that is not reality. I do what I need to do and you can't fuck with that. But you have guys dating female bodybuilders or fitness girls etc and they may have great relationships but I value the fact that my girl is not involed in the industry. If I was with another competitor, I think I picture myself losing my ability to relate to people outside of the sport. I think that fi the sport has any fuckin chance of bein somewhat mainstream or at least as popular as it was back in the late 80s then there have to be guys who can talk to people and not act like a fuckin meathead and the guy has to know more than eat, sleep, train. Maybe you could win a contest with that mentality but you'll suck at life. I'm a bodybuilder, yes. But I'm a human being first and foremost and if I HAD to stop bodybuilding tommorow it wouldn't be the end of my world. I can do other shit and be happy and successful. I'm not impressed with people who are really good at ONE thing. Big fuckin deal you can win a bodybuilding contest. There's go to be more to you than that. If that's all you have to offer, not only do you suck as a person, you make a real shitty ambassador for the sport of bodybuilding. Person first. Bodybuilder, second.

I think he would regret it later if he did leave her,,but then again if the man doesnt love the women maybe its
time to set her free and they both move on.

    What Goble said.

Evan Centpani has always impressed me as a class act and reading that just confirmed it for me.

Being succesful at BBing does not need to mean you live your life as a totally self absorbed, one dimensional moron. Those who take this path may have big muscles but they end up very small people.

True. But then you should disclose that at the onset of the relationship and know that being self obsessed means not having what other people have. Its a fair trade off when you're single. You can't just impose that shit on someone though.

The bloke actually said: "I spend more time at the gym than I do with my kids."
Assuming they're still little enough to want their dad around and that he also works...that's kind of shitty.

I'm not saying what he should or should not do, I couldn't give a flying fuck. But I know what it takes to be at the level that he desires. And for that you need to be, HAVE to be!! One eyed, so focused it's almost like Rain-Man, and I'm not exaggerating at all with that. Seriously, how many of the top guys can you count that have familes? I mean real familes, not a few odd children running around. It's even hard to find ones that are married. I held hope for Troy Alves and Jay but even they are over, and neither of them even have kids. And the kids it's what makes the next level.

8 time Mr Olympia Lee Haney.

Married his childhood sweetheart Shirley, had 3 kids, won 8 Sandows, retired, lived happily ever after, is still healthy and happy at 50ish yo or thereabouts.

I will readily admit he is not the norm in this crazy pursuit of ours.

Of course you can do it. I guess I'm saying, this guy is using it as an excuse NOT to make good on commitments he has already made.
And as you guys point out...you can do both.

He's choosing not to. His problem is not BBing...its something else.

Whether it be bodybuilding, or something else..

He's still find a way to be a shit bloke..

Some are self absorbed, and some consumed by many other things..

Good parents, husbands are few and far between..

As Xanth said, his problem is not BBing.. it's merely the sympton..

Ronnie, Haney, Branch, dugdale...the list would go on. I totally disagree you have to be that self absorbed and obsessed to be a successful bodybuilder, completely ridiculous. I would argue that its just people who are already fairly self absorbed, narcissistic and with some serious insecurity problems that are drawn to bodybuilding in the first place. Not the other way around. I know a lot of people who are very successful in other pursuits such as business and careers that demand a hell of a lot more dedication than bodybuilding and still have a very good / balanced family life. Hell i know someone who works as an investment banker which is a very demanding career and competes at a high level in triathlons also, still has time for his son. The above is a cop out in my opinion.

I have no idea what it would take to get to this level... But one could postulate that having a stable base and lots of support from a wife and family could actually assist someone in ascending to heights well above what they are capable of on their own.

Could not agree more with you JFT87. This is definitely a cop out. The dude is having botox injections at age 30-31! Wtf is he going to do when he gets to 40+ ?? You can tell he is heavily affected by the steroids (horny dog) and wants to root around eventhough he has a loving wife and three kids. If you spend more time in the gym like this guy said, then you do with your kids who are your flesh and blood, then the issues are far deeper. This guy fucked up the minute he got married IMO.

The guy seems to be totally fucked mentally. Even at the of the third episode he agrees he has to be a better man and support his wife and children better than rambles and says his a BB and his going to go pro.

His wife should find someone that will treat herself and the kids with some respect.

If he does continue with BB and turning pro all I can say is good luck buddy your going to get smoked !!!
