Age + Time off + probably lifting naturally now, he looks pretty good I would say. Better than what Coleman will in a few years.

Arnold quit competing in 1980 and he looked great for decades after that. So did Zane. So did Serge Nubret.

Many of us have never been good enough to compete but stay in better condition than that.

Does he really look that good for a retired Mr Olympia with "One in a million" genetics???

He looks better than most people, did you expect single digit digit B./F.% when he's retired??I still see plenty of muscle mass if he really tried he might in time get back into Mr.O. shape.About his comeback, let's not forget those injuries.....

From what I see he still has alot of mass, his lats are clearly still wide and he has solid arms and chest still.

If he was not so pasty white it would help too, he looks to be 16% ish for body fat...3 months work and he could be 12 or lower with ease I would suspect.

Even during his competitive years he never really had a small waist either, it's just that he was so massive everywhere else......

All of you are being too kind. How many of us aren't even close to his level but stay in better condition? Look at Lee Labrada and Rich Gaspari. Both are his age or older and both stay in good shape.

I see a lot of you referring to other retired bb's that stayed in great shape. Sure they did, however, looking at dorian and comparing him to them, he looks to be natural, unlike the others mentioned.

No, I'm not. He's diabetic now. He has to use insulin.

Insulin can either make you very fat or very muscular. If you don't work out and eat a bunch of garbage, you'll turn into a fat piece of shit. If you eat right and bust your ass in the gym, you'll put on muscle like you're on gear. It's extremely anabolic when used correctly.

Ever wonder why Tim Belknap was so freaky muscular back in the late 70's-early 80's???

Well son of a gun. I did not know he was diabetic... That's amazing that he is using his handicap to his advantage.

I dont know what the hell this video is from and frankly it looks pretty retarded. Im not sure why dorian would be a part of such gayness, but whatever, I hope he got paid.

As for the critiques of his physique, you guys are nuts. Going form the level he was at, to being natural (i assume) and non competitive has got be hard to deal with, and Im sure a lot of guys just let everything go. Hes is great shape.

I found it on you tube and it says it is from 2006 or a little earlier, so that being said he is in better shape now judging by recent pics of him for his supplement line promos etc.

Man.... you guys are a tough crowd. Yates is not only a legend and one of the GREATEST of all time.... but looks incredible for being away from the stage and the serious injuries he has incurred. Hes not fat there... maybe 10 to 12 percent.... one of the scenes shows him flexing his core... and all the abs are in view.
Sorry if I sound pissy.... but I doubt a single guy posting in this thread could come close to him ..... even in the condition hes in in this video.
If he trained hard for 3 months he would probably add 5 inches back onto his chest measurment and make the wide waist less aparant
Theres my rant for the day. LOL

Exactly JP....the man has paid his dues and conquered his BB ing goals. He has nothing to prove, besides any time he felt like tossing some weights around he could make most here look like Nubial boys shape wise.

To contribute a smidge of what he has to the sport or any cause for that matter is praise worthy....one of the first true mass monsters of the sport!

Well thats a loaded question.... maybe his previous injuries wont allow it... maybe he doesnt feel the need to walk around at 300 pounds.
    He obviously still trains....
to me, he still maintains a physique that 98% of this board would be envious of.
Gotta remember, him standing beside an Olympia competitior today (after a decade of retirement) he doesnt stand a chance but in any gym he would be turning heads.
I say hats off to him.... he has nothing to prove and probably feels no need to have a stage quality physique.
Sorry if I seem biased, but to me he is a legend.

I travelled to Temple for my birthday in June, and was lucky enough to train while he and his Mrs were training..

Lovely guy, and obviously he doesn't train as hard as he used to..

He still has some great size.. had a few laughs..

Favourite line "why the fuck would you come to England for a holiday? We come to Australia, coz it's much nicer there".. lol

Few BIG Boys training at temple.. Atmosphere was great..

Maybe there are guys on here that look better than him at his age or even older, but how many of them can say they were Mr. Olympia? Or even a professional bodybuilder?

Its a recent pic of Dorian holding up his shirt to show a hairy set of ETCHED abs.
