    Default The Testo Clinic

Anyone use the services of thetestoclinic.com ?

I'm looking at going ahead with bloodwork etc but they want at least 12 months payment upfront.

If your bloodwork comes back showing that you do not qualify for treatment you get your money back - but I don't want to risk it unless someone can vouch for them.

Here's part of an email I received:

"Our programs are all inclusive, you will receive initial doctors consultation, pathology testing (6 monthly), medication, diet and exercise guides also delivery is included.

As you have taken the time to look at our website and have probably done some research, you will be well aware of the benefits of HRT.

We have many options for you and the program costs are as follows

    12 Months $1250

    18 Months $1800

    24 Months $2200

Program costs are inclusive of GST and paid in full.

The Doctors we use are based throughout the whole of Australia where as our head office is based in Sydney. All be it that you fit the initial medical criteria and are happy with the way we provided said treatments, we would organise a consult with one of the Doctors. The consultation with the Doctor is on the telephone and the blood tests are at your local pathology centre(the Doctors are registered with them all). Following the return of your blood test results the Doctor can then determine the right course of treatment for you, however if you are not suitable for the treatment you will not be charged and receive a refund of all monies paid. If you have any further questions or queries please do not hesitate to contact me via the details listed below."

    12 months @ $1250

Unless the program includes GH, the hormones will likely be testosterones at approx 125mgs per week as a maximum dosage, the equivalent of 1 ml every two weeks, 26 mls over the 12 months.

Buggar that works out at approx $48 per ml.

I guess the initial doctors consultation, pathology testing (6 monthly), diet and exercise guides must be worth a bit

you will prob find tho that these hormone clinics order in their own hrt supps and bi pass the chemist system so they charge what they want as you buy it straight off them.....ie 50 a ml is about avreage with alot of them and you get 1 ml every 2nd or 3rd wk...so medicare doesnt apply.....they will also give you gh to if your levels are low they are able to give you 2iu a day but for a wk (14iu) your looking at about 350 and 10 wks worth 3500 so very exy again you buy it straight from the doc....a couple of hormone docs up my way do this very thing

Medical consultations and medication do not attract GST. I wonder why Testo Clinic add GST to their services?

Disregarding your blood results for a moment....

    How's your physique looking?

Also, I've noticed HRT can cost anywhere between $200 to $600per week through these clinics. Who can afford that? Bloody hell... Expensive!

    Physique resembles my username

They switched me to 150mg test troche every day - bloods show a slight improvement.

I will run this for another month then get some more bloods done.

Wish there was a knowledgeable dr or endo who I could consult in Perth.

From my research my bloods and symptoms suggest that I should go on a stronger dosage but with me being a few years under 40 they seem reluctant.

I've looked into this for a number of years and I'm prepared to go onto hrt/trt for life - already got an embryo frozen away for future use if we want another bub.

Medicare-eligible services don't attract GST. I guess they're not in that category. For example most cosmetic work attracts GST, including associated anaesthesia and hospital fees.

FWIW here are my recent blood results:

NB - Started treatment with cream around August, 2011

    December, 2010 @ 8am
    Test: 6.2
    Free Test: 0.141
    SHBG 23.8

    December, 2011 @ 8am
    Test: 27.3
    Free Test: 0.642
    SHBG 32.1

    May, 2012 @ 11:30am
    Test: 21.6
    Free Test: 0.395
    SHBG 44.2

Would greatly appreciate input on the above.
    Age = 37.
How much would the most recent results be effected by the test being done later in the morning?

G'day. I'm new to this forum and I joined up specifically to take part in this discussion becuase I'm looking at the Testo clinic seriously right now, as in, I've got the money in my hand and the salesman is waiting for me to call him back.

I go to the gym and lead a pretty active lifestyle but, although I'd certainly *like* to be a bit bigger it's not really my major focus. My Dad started taking testosterone supplements about a year ago, innitially from the Testo Clinic, and it changed his life. He's suffered depression pretty much forever and has always had problems with motivation and energy. My Dad's 73, has never played any kind of sport ever, has never seen the inside of a gym and quite literally never learned how to run, not even when he was a kid. And yet, since going on the cream he can outwalk me, and I walk 5 to 20 Ks a night in my job. He went off the cream for a little while to find out if that was what was making the difference and things returned to total shit. Gone back on it and he's back to being superman. So for him, it's a *really* clear result.

So, I also suffer from depression, and since it's partly genetic odds are what I've got's pretty similar to what he's got. So I did the blood test.
    Results:
    S TESTO 7.1 L nmol/L (9.9-27.8)
    S SHBG 15 nmol/L (15-40)
    cFreeTesto 191.55 nmol/L (170-670)

To put that in perspective, my Dads S TESTO was 15, and he apparently needs more than that to be healthy. As I understand it, a result of 7.1 on the S TESTO means that I should be eligable for medicare.

However, I showed this to my doctor and she took one look at it and said, "Sure, those first two are a bit low but the thirds a little above minimum so no problem. No perscription for you".

So. Like I said, I'm not a "serious" body builder, I don't want to be huge, I just want my testosterone at a normal healthy level. I'd also prefer not to run the risk of growing boobs or my hair falling out or any of the other side effects I've heard about if I can avoid it. Not that I'm judging anyone who does choose to take those risks: if you want serious size and this is part of your plan then I respect your decision of cost vs benefit. But for me, like I said, the ballance is different. Bearing that in mind I definately like the idea of a softly softly approach (ie, cream vs injections) with lots of profesional monitoring and the Testo clinic *seems* to be offering me that.

But is the Testo clinic the best there is? My Dad doesn't go through them any more but unfortunately I can't get the supplement the same way he does because a: He's in a different state and b:the doctor who signed the script was a locum who he doesn't have any ongoing contact with.

My plan of action at this stage is to fork over the $1250 to the Testo clinic, have them hold my hand through the first year and then, if I get the results I think I will, go cap in hand to various GPs and argue that I'm getting a demostraited effect and can I please please have a script so I don't have to get ripped off any more. On the other hand, once my testosterone problem's fixed I'll have lost the opportunity to get cheap (medicare subsidised) supplements, and that's no small thing (I'll put money towards a good investment but I don't have it to throw around).

So. Any advice? From anyone? Does anyone know a good endochrinologist in Melbourne? Or maybe even a GP who's open to the idea of HRT for someone in their thirties (I'm 36)? If anyone has any contacts that could help out, like I said, I'm pretty motivated about this stuff, I'd be happy to drive to the other side of the city (I'm in the north) or Geelong or wherever if anyone knows anyone who can help.

Mate, if I was you with a reading of 7.1, you can do a bit of Dr shopping and I'm sure you will find one somewhere that would prescribe you meds. My dads was at 13 and his Doctor gave him a few repeat prescriptions for Testogel. Compared to the prices of Testo Clinic you'll be saving yourself a shitload of money if you want a similar product to what they would provide you.

    Thanks, I'll try that.

Do you know any doctors that might be open to that idea? I've generally avoided doctors but at far as I know there's ussually a co-payment on top of medicare of around $30 or so and they generally will get a prepayment off you before answering any questions. While I'm willing to put a certain amount of money behind this I don't really want to throw it away thirty bucks a pop until I find the one in whatever it is who's open minded.

Bear in mind, I'm not asking for any kind of black market or under the table service here, I just want a doctor who will actually abide by the government guidlines as they currently exist. Also, I'd really like to talk to an actual endochronologist, preferably one with experience with problems like mine (does anybody know one? as in, an endo who specifically knows about testosterone supplements?) but, as with the testo, I can't just go, I need a referal from a GP. I want to do it right, not just get the cheapest stuff and hope I can figure out myself how to use it safely.
