Default Important Legal Info: Board Rules | Source Requests | Imports and Legal Implications

Guys, Most of us here have been around for years, however, from time to time I'm sure you have all received unsolicited PM's from unknown members offering to supply various sustances of an illegal nature. Please report any such approaches to one or all of the Mods either by PM or in the Talk To The Mods forum. These people will be immediately kicked out and banned. Dont be fooled by these scammers or let them expose this board to unwanted attention from the authorities.

Just an addition to the original thread people, same deal with the 1 post newbie who PM's something like" Hey mate saw you online can you help me with a source" type shit. Let one of the Mods know and it will be taken care of. Cheers all.

Hmm interesting mate, i haven't noticed it too much, I was thinking that the Aussie corner was pretty good as far as this was concerned. I was initially kinda worried about the possible caning that might come out of doing the IMC but thus far it has been nutin but a positive experience from all concerned. Most of the people that have ventured into our journals and associated IMC threads have been nuthin but helpful or if thats not the case have decided on the course of action my mother explained to me years ago, if you have nuthin nice to say don't say anything at all.

Maybe I need to have a better look at whats being posted elsewhere in here but I havent experienced it and I'm hoping that I havent unknowingly perpetrated that kind of attitude. Anyways you guys do a great job, so much so that I waste far too much time on here when I should be doing other things!
Its not if you win or lose, its how good you look doing it............

could not agree with u more..thats why I have not posted in ages...its not the majority but a small minority who believe that they are indeed "experts" in whatever question asked...and end up ridiculing and making fun newer members who ask some simple questions which we all have asked when we started our relationship with the iron.

I have recieved some of the best feedback from the more lnowledgeble memebers of this forum who have always had the time to respond even when pressed for time. Thanks guys...

Yes i have noticed this issue myself lately for about 4 to 6 months , i have had to let the odd thing slide by as the day i get upset writing on a forum i would cease to do it ,

While on the subject we all take a joke well and know what is tongue in cheek , but in some cases there has been unecessary sarcasm which is humour , the lowest form,
Bodybuilding at a competitive level is art! It is moving sculpture. Finish off your work of art with the perfect tan

Well I guess for me, I feel like posting here is like walking on thin ice.

Unless you have met the people here face to face, it's hard for me (and for other people including mods) to gauge who to trust. And in this context I don't think the "brotherhood" system here applies to everyone.

And I guess that is the nature of the culture here, probably due to the fact that certain topics discussed here are provocative and illegal. The identities of some members here are maybe of a 'undercover' nature and therefore you can't blame people if they are cautious. However, I do get a lot of good advice here which is why I keep coming again and again.

I have a feeling most people who trade insults to each other here have met and therefore can put flamings into context as they know what each other is like. These are the ones who probably attend the bodybuilding and other social events.

And if I were to be the first one to publicly say and admit it, there are times when I do feel intimidated here. I'm not saying everyone, but I do find many people talk tough and act "all that" like they are all alpha males. If you are really all that you wouldn't be flaunting it at all and be just humble about it. Let your results speak for themselves.

    Just my 2c. Peace.

Mr Aust is right, this has been something that has irked us for a while. I think at times we all get frustrated with the dumb questions some members might ask...self included, and of course many of us have been here for many many years so of course there is an element of the "clique". I think it is important as the premier BB site in Australia that we do our best to educate and guide at whatever level a member is. To this end I think us Mods need to set an example, use judicious moderation and we need to have an intro and educational process for the newer, younger members who may not have hardly any experience and are still at the perceived "vulnerable" stage. That being said, veteran and senior members have a stake in this to. I would ask those guys to also assist in setting an example...your words carry great weight at time and people look up to you...setting the "tone" of a thread is easy, if someone starts flaming a member then others get on the bandwagon...the opposite is also true...set a tone of acceptance and guidance and you will find others do likewise. I think we need to make it "üncool" to belittle others.

This is good and I'm gonna comment here since I was the culprit who pretty much initiated the discussion MA92 refers to.

This is not about the few guys who exchange a few jokes and insults, those guys do know each other and are actually very good friends in real life, just having some fun.

What this is about is people posting questions on the forum and receiving little more than a series of insulting comments, of sort, mostly in the form of mocking.

I just deleted the rest of my post as I'm too tired. Hound Dog sums up what I wanted to say!

Good posts guys. Come to think of it, I was actually thinking about somethig along the same lines yesterday when reading a post. Mine was more to do with the racial slurs that people make.

Anyway, feel free to continue the gay jokes, just don't accuse me of being a poof...lol

A common response seems to be USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION . good idea but it doesnt always resolve your question and doesnt return posts past a certian age it seems.
The other common response is Post your age, trianing history, diet, goals etc. can put it a bit softer at times I think.
Well done to the Mods we certianly dont want other sections of the board avoiding us because of some bad posts.

i hadnt really noticed apart from one or two members. also some of the jokes were getting a bit dicey.

apart from that i think the place is great.

which i guess just goes to show what a conceited little bastard i must be to not even notice!

Yes I had noticed it, and it did suck. It wasn't too bad though, but a good reminder though lads.

If you want to see it at it's worst check out a lot of what happens in Dave Palumbo's thread at MD. There are some really bad know-it-all wankers on that thread who belittle you rather than help you.

MrAust - what are you talking about? 'we aren't IFBB Pros' or 'elite' haven't you seen the IMC Magnificant Seven! Future Mr Os in the making! LOL.

Yep, I am a regular at Palumbos's Q&A thread and the tone is much better when Dave is around but he is a busy dude and cant be there 24/7.

I must admit, I haven't noticed any of this at all.
This place is much more friendly and civilised than most other forums.

You'll get eaten alive on Get Big - that place is brutal!

Everyone seems pretty cool around here and I've noticed heaps of newbies springing up which indicates to me that they feel comfortable and confident enough to post here which is very encouraging. I want Bolex to keep growing, so the more newbies the better I say.

As for me, well no matter what kind of rules you Mods bring in, I'm not giving up man-sex for anybody!

Dam you Axe, you beat me to it!

Guy's I'm not sure on this. I don't see that it is really as bad as you guy's see it. I'm guilty of throwing my share of "piss taking" on this board, so I can’t help but feel a little involved and defensive. For the most part it is always just in jest and only to give everyone a chuckle, including the person it's thrown at.

There are times when things get a little heated between members, but this is a discussion board between many people who have many opinions. I like to think that we are, as Aust suggests, a brotherhood of sorts and there are occasions when some newbie comes on and is offensive to a member who we have developed a relationship with (Regardless of wether or not if have met them in person) then we will feel protective of them and have the odd verbal spray to back the Senior member. Again, because we do have different opinions and are passionate about this, it is natural for the odd argument to pop up here and there.

And for the record I have seen Aust, Hound Dog and other moderators (Maybe not Xanthine though) slam some dumb arse newbie and/or members when it’s appropriate.

I got shit handed to me at first on this site, and yes I was a skinny fucker when my journey (hate that word) started out in the gyms. As long as it's not some fuckwit just being outright mean, it seems to be the right of passage for the newbie’s to go through. (Old school thinking a bit sure, but that’s my opinion!)

Although I have only been here myself 18 months, I see lots of new members coming on board of late and see Bolex as healthy, alive and well. I just don’t think things are as bad as you guys suggest.

Anyway some personal feedback would be good guys, because I can pull up if that’s what you want, but it will be at the expense of personality and a bit of humour.

    This wasnt directed at you.

I am not talking about a bit of good old Aussie banter, a piss-take between mates or gay-bashing Outlaw. If I want to abuse you I can just do it in person at the gym anyway................

I am talking about inexperienced guys getting caned for asking sensible questions that some may think should be second nature to a BBing fraternity.

I am all for having fun and have no intention of diluting the humour and banter on here, I will also continue to be merciless to those who truly behave like fuckwits on here. Posts like "Hey Bro, how can I get hooked up with some dbol?" will be caned. (fuck I hate that term "Bro", for fuck's sake we are Aussies and Aussies use the term "mate").

Like I said, its only a small minority offending and overall the tone is good, we just need to ensure we stomp on it when we see it.

This applies to more than just the Mods too, many of you guys are top amateur BBers and members look up to you for guidance and advice, show some leadership and help set the tone.

    Hope that clears it up.

Thanks for clearing that up champ. I just remember calling a fuckwit a fuckwit recently and Xanthine edited it for me. Like you have told me, internet tough guys are a dime a dozen, so I felt a bit stupid for it.

However in that case... "Yeah, to all you wankers out there pull your heads in!"

Does that mean that Mr Bro will now have to change his name to Mr Mate?

That'll make him sound a bit girlie.
Isn't there some stuff that you put in the bath to make it go all bubbly that's called Mr Matey?

Ive just recently been reading the Aussie threads so i can't say I've seen it. However trhe problem does exist with the American and open forums. It has a distinctive "you must be stupid" attitude growing there towards the newbies. I think it would be good to post a similiar sticky over there as well. After all, no one starts out as an expert and no one has all the answers now do do they? A stupid question is the one never asked IMO.

    too much gay shit

I wonder what other countrys think of us?
Testosterone production begins in the brain. When the hypothalamus detects a deficiency of testosterone in the blood, it secretes a hormone called gonadotrophin-releasing hormone to the pituitary gland. This prompts the pituitary to secrete luteinizing hormone (LH), which then prompts the Leydig cells in the testes to produce testosterone.

If you get raided by police because you have been linked to buying illegal substances you live by the sword. It ain't legal. I choose to not use. Don't think there is anything wrong with that. Didn't realise that it was illegal to be natural. Seems that this is the wrong site to be natural and proud of it.

Be as proud as you want to but don't act like you're better than anyone else. We all lift the same weights we just have a different approach to it.

I just got abused in my opinions on another thread by the very people that are agreeing it is good to stop the slamming. Just because I am new to the website doesn't mean I am green.
