7/25 raw bench max
well today was the big day.
here's how it went 135x4 225x4 315x4 405x1 max time 475x1 EASY 505x1 went right up 515x1 very clean rep, but hard. slow on the upstroke these reps were all with a very clean touch and go. absolutely no sinking whatsoever. it was like the youtube vid of scot mendleson's 715. clean TNG, maybe would work in competition from a generous judge. either way, i know i am good 500 with a long pause, no prob then.... 225x40 PR!!!! by 8 or 9 reps i think my boss and a few friends came to video tape the whole thing and it should be on youtube as soon as we figure out how. if someone here knows, please PM me and tell or, or post it here then my usual assistance work dips 90lbs x 8 45 x 10 45 x 10 BW x 10 machine incline 3 sets vbar cable tri pushdowns 3 sets cable tri kickbacks 3 sets per arm official weigh in - 268lbs |

thanks guys
now im gunning for 550. who knows how long of a journy that will be. anywhere from 6 months to 2 years or more. just like all you guys know, you get stuck at a weight for a while, then you break loose all at once im close to maintaing a steady walking weight of 270lbs |

ive already been in a shirt. in nov 06 i did an APA meet and got 530 @ 242 teen, then the next summer i got up to 565x3, but could never get a 1RM. i attempted 585 the following week, but something wasnt right, i guess i was overtrained. after that, i sold my bench shirt to coachK and have been training raw in the mean time

wow. Very impressive. I have a 705 bench with a shirt and I don't think I can bench 500 raw (have never tried). I think I am going to start to get my raw bench going. Going to start light and build back up. My joints are wrecked right now. Your progress have been an inspiration to me. Keep up the good work

Nice work BJ, I'm glad you got that 500. Way to go man, keep hitting it hard. Are you planning on hitting up a meet anytime soon, getting 500 raw as a junior would be awesome. Shit you still have two years before you are in the open divsion, no telling what kinds of shit you could do as a junior. Regardless that's an awesome lift man, way to go.
