I'm not sure if anyone else notices this but when someone new joins or an older member rejoins, why is there a plethora of post whoring saying nuthin other than welcome? Why not ask a couple of questions of the newcomer about their training or themselves, something they can reply to and expand on making the thread somewhat interesting rather than bumping your post count with

I find it annoying and if you were a new member probably kinda boring that the only thing anyone can think of to say to your introduction is a single word. I wouldn't heistate to say that it probably doesn't make them warm and fuzzy inside, rather that no one is interested in finding out some more about them.

Maybe I'm way off track and need to have a beer after the fucken shithouse week of work I've just had, oh wait I cant, i havta go get on a fucken plane and do the in laws thing, fanfuckentastic.

that makes sense, but a welcome is better than no response at all. when i first joined i was just glad to see "welcome". whether someone was post whoring or not it made me feel more "welcome."
