WATERLOO REGION
A Waterloo man has been charged in connection with an investigation into dealing in steroids. Fernando Reis, 47, appeared in Kitchener court yesterday and was remanded in custody for 72 hours while the investigation continues. He is charged with possession of steroids for the purpose of trafficking and trafficking in steroids. Sgt. Cam Croal of the RCMP said a "large volume" of unidentified substances was seized in Kitchener. Analysis must be carried out to determine exactly what the substances are. Done in co-operation with Waterloo Regional Police, the investigation is in its early stages. "Honestly, we haven't had a chance to count, weigh, do anything like that yet," Croal said. It is the second time in five months that local police have made substantial seizures of steroids, which speed muscle growth and are associated with performance enhancement in bodybuilding and other sports. In late November, regional police seized more than 10,000 steroid pills and other drugs in Waterloo with an estimated street value of $60,000. It was the largest steroids bust ever in Waterloo Region. Vincent Gemmiti, 33, of Burlington was arrested when the seizure was made outside a suburban Waterloo home. He faces a dozen counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking steroids, plus charges related to other drugs. Gemmiti faces numerous charges after a two-year RCMP investigation into a thriving black market in steroids in New Brunswick and other Maritime provinces. That probe culminated in the arrests of 18 people, including Gemmiti, last year. At this point, police aren't making a connection between Reis and Gemmiti. The RCMP expect to release more information today. |

this is a lab...
i believe form the article he was investigated by Pfizer who contacted the RCMP as he was selling replica Viagra and they were pissed he infringed on their patent. It was this investigation that led to the discovery of the steroid lab and the subsequent arrest. From all the news, he was very big. Press conference slated for Tuesday I believe. |

I personally know the guy. I am not saying anything other than what the media says but this guy was huge. The tally is still not done, but it is estimated at 3-5 million just in stock alone. Never mind his 2 beautiful homes/cars etc. He is a nice guy, but got greedy. He made tons of money without having to sell on-line.

I've been reading things on various boards & a few people have commented that there has not been a single piece of news since the bust in the papers & the cops are now trying to go after the dealers that this guy was supplying to & have said the lab may have been the "swedish' lab SA. Don't know if it's true, but odd that after the lab was busted, they've not put any news out regarding anything.
