Guys, let me assure you that this comp will be run with the utmost credibility....its early days yet and frankly I would have preferred a little bit more time before it all went public, however, concept is great, looks like excellent support even at this early stage and already some cool prizes etc. But like everything it needs to be managed in an appropriate manner....so prior to any official start date, all rules and conditions will be clearly outlined.

We are looking at 1 Overall winners trophy & about 6-8 consolation trophies. (I think?) Something that's cheap & easy to mail would be good. ![]() |

I have both the magazines interests & Bolex's interests to consider, so even though it will be lots of fun, there is still a bit of fine-tuning to go yet. It won't be starting until around May, so that gives us nearly 3mths to sort out all the rules etc. This post is just to create some interest & feedback, so keep it coming, it's been really good to see so many people wanting to support it so far. Thanks. |

If this is well organised then I would be willing to chip in some cash to help with trophies as well as supplements.
In all seriousness, we probably need a little discussion group of 6 or so (obviously including the 3 originals that came up with the concept) to discuss dates, details and everything else to really get this on track. We could even delegate tasks so no one person is lumped with too much responsibility. Sharing the burdens would really make it feel like a true "Bolex" project too. The more the better, but limited to those who have the time and are prepared to put some effort into making it happen. Given so many of you fellas have been involved in shows before the chance of this reaching fruition would be bloody good. I'm dead keen, I can see a drunken night (perhaps saturday night after the pro show when everyone would be together?) where we all sit around and get the plans really happening. * If it's not too extravagant and we get a few sponsors in, it's possible that the winner could receive some assistance in entering the country classic. I know a help with airfares and stuff for the winner would inspire a lot of people to take part. |

This is why we have posted up nice and early. Expressions of interest is what we are after: who wants to enter, who wants to judge, who wants to sponsor, what are the rules and conditions. This is a joint venture between Bolex & HCAM, with all the members & readers chipping in. It is important to remember that both Bolex & HCAM will not be a part of something dodgy or half-arsed, we have nothing to gain by doing that. Therefore both Hound Dog & myself will no doubt have the final say on anything. Between a few of us, we should be able to come up with a template for how this competition will run, then present it to the Bolex members for approval. We are not after thousands of dollars, just a few decent prizes donated by some of the businesses & members from this forum. I am happy to chase up sponsorship from some of the magazine advertisers too, but for now I would like to see if we can do it all via the good people at Bolex. The competition would run something like this: Competitors will need to submit the following poses: Symmetry Round Four Quarter turns. Facing the front, right side, back, left side. Compulsory Poses Front Double Bicep Front Latspread Side Chest Rear Double Bicep Rear Latspread Side Triceps Abs + Thigh Most Muscular Free Poses Choose six unique poses. (Not from the above poses) ¾ Back poses Lunging poses Kneeling poses etc. Before photo. For the best transformation prize Photo of them holding their local newspaper to authenticate that it was done during the allocated time. Judges; Both myself & Hound Dog will be judging. So far we have the following judges who have put their hands up: Mr Vic Tanman Monsta Deby Austin That's 6, we would obviously prefer an odd number & preferably experienced judges, although I would love to see our Aussie Pros Luke Wood & Arina Manta perhaps getting involved & judging. I'm sure it would be a bit of a thrill for the competitors to be judged by them. Categories would be something like this: Overall Best Physique Best Transformation Best Legs Best Back Best Chest Best Arms Best Abs Most Ripped Most Symmetrical Prizes: We're pretty much up for anything really. Although these are not really what I would describe as prizes, the winner will get the following: A write-up in the magazine, (as will the whole competition of course). Free entry to this years CCI, 4 seats, 2 nights accom. A photo-shoot the day after with Gary Phillips, to be published in HCAM. This is not really much of a prize to be honest. It means that whoever wins will need to keep on dieting & pay their own way to get to Bendigo. This is pretty much an incentive prize to encourage people to consider taking the next step. I don't expect that anyone will want it, but I hope someone has a go. There will be no cash prizes, just products. Stuff like supplements, clothing, DVDs etc. Offering prizes like the CCI thing can be a bit of a pain-in-the-arse for the winner, so rather than giving away free entry to shows etc, we would prefer stuff that we can post off to the winners. Trophies: Something that's not too heavy otherwise the postage will kill us! Possibly wooden plaque type things. Those trophies that Sledge posted up are awesome, but they look expensive to buy & expensive to post. We would also like something that we can replicate each year. I hope this gives you a few ideas. Any others would be appreciated. Please keep in mind, the reason behind this whole competition is to encourage more people to compete and to have fun doing it. Cheers. Craig. |
